Teespring is a crowdfunding platform for groups, causes and communities to design and sell custom apparel.
Anyone can come and design a shirt which they can then sell via Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else online. The seller keeps all of the profit the shirt earns. People use Teespring as a fundraising tool or just to earn some extra money.
The best part is the shirts don't print and ship until a set end date determined by the seller. This means they pay nothing upfront, take no risk and don't have to deal with the hassle of ordering the right number of shirts.
I just watched both videos, (the one above and this quick tutorial for using the designer), about Teespring and I played with the designer a little. I love it! I can't wait to design more shirts! It makes it really fun to do and the designer and the site itself is really user-friendly and pleasing to the eyes.
I love that, unlike CafePress, the prices can actually be reasonable for customers. I also like that they do all the shipping. I don't know how many of you have tried to have shirts printed for a fundraiser of some sort or whatever, but it gets super expensive and I have never been happy with the product. Teespring is different and it shows!
You can go on over to Teespring to check them out and get started with your own campaign. It's free, super easy and so much fun!
Don't know where to start? Here's a few awesome examples of what people have done with the site:
- A couple sold this "Love makes a family shirt" to raise money to adopt
- This one included children's and toddler's shirts to raise money for an 11-year-old to sing in a children's choir in Hungary
- This one raised over 85k for Boston relief
Now that you've got crazy inspiration flowing, go ahead and go check them out!
